Jack Stephens says Coventry City can emulate Swindon Town's top-six finish

On-loan defender Jack Stephens says Coventry City have the right qualities to finish in the play-off places in League One this season.

The 22-year-old joined the Sky Blues last month from Southampton until the end of the season and made his home debut in Saturday's 6-0 win over Bury.

"We've seen what the attacking players can do," he said.

"Hopefully we can carry on that form over the next few weeks and get a bit of a run going."

Stephens made the play-offs last season during a loan spell at Swindon and he says he can already see similarities between the Robins and his current club.

"Both teams like to play - I think we had a younger squad last year at Swindon but I think the experienced lads here are vital," he told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire.

New boys together

Stephens arrived at Coventry at the same time as another loanee, Bournemouth's Bailey Cargill, while striker Darius Henderson was signed a few days later.

"Me and Bailey have played together a few times with the England youth sides and we get on really well and that helps on the pitch," he said.

"Darius came in just after, so there are a few lads settling in, so it 's not so daunting. Hopefully I can go back a better player."
