Truro City: Isaac Vassell attracting interest from other clubs, says boss Steve Tully

Truro City boss Steve Tully has confirmed that striker Isaac Vassell is attracting interest from other clubs.

The 22-year-old came on from the bench as the Cornish side drew 1-1 at home to National League South leaders Ebbsfleet United on Saturday.

Asked whether the interested teams are from a higher division, Tully told BBC Radio Cornwall: "I believe so.

"The chairman (Peter Masters) deals with them - he'll deal with all the players coming in and who goes out."

Anthony Acheampong's own goal put Truro ahead, but despite going down to 10 men the table-toppers equalised when Acheampong scored at the right end.

The result left the White Tigers in the play-off places on goal difference ahead of their trip to Concord Rangers on Tuesday night.

"People have seen the team and thought why's he (Vassell) not in it, but he's played a lot of minutes for a young lad and I can't afford for him to be burnt out," added Tully.

"It was right to give him a rest for 50 minutes and bring him on for 40 and hopefully he'll be ready to go for Tuesday and Saturday.

"Not only Vass, I think there's a lot of players that have done themselves a lot of good this season and it can only help them."

Meanwhile, the White Tigers have extended the loan of Exeter City striker Matt Jay until the end of the season.
