Fleetwood have signed former Falkirk midfielder Thomas Grant on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old Aberdeen-born player is reunited with Fleetwood manager Steven Pressley, who gave him his debut as a teenager at Falkirk in 2012.

He has been training with the Cod Army, following his release by the Scottish Championship side in January.

He made 23 appearances in his first season at Falkirk, scoring his first goal in a 2-0 win at Dumbarton.

Fleetwood stand 17th in League One, ahead of Saturday's home date with play-off hopefuls Sheffield United.

Pressley's side have climbed four points clear of trouble following two big wins over promotion-chasing sides in four days, last weekend's 2-1 win at his old side Coventry City and Tuesday night's 2-1 home win over Gillingham.
