Paul Brannan: Former St Paul's manager rules out role with Jersey

St Paul's lost just five competitive games in two seasons under Paul's Brannan's guidance

Outgoing St Paul's manager Paul Brannan says he is not interested in taking the Jersey manager's job.

Brannan is leaving the Jersey champions after two years, having won nine trophies from a possible 10.

Former Aston Villa boss Brian Little, who guided Jersey to victory over Guernsey earlier this month, indicated he may quit management after the win.

"If I was in a position to be involved in football next season, it would be with St Paul's," Brannan said.

Brannan quit his role owing to increased work commitments, with players Stuart Andre, Craig Leitch and Jordan Docherty taking over at Clos Des Pauvres next season.

"I hope Brian Little stays, I hope he continues the work that he has done because there's a lot of work still to be done in terms of retaining the Muratti next year back in Guernsey and also the Island Games in Gotland," Brannan added to BBC Sport.

"Brian Little is the perfect person for the job with his experience, the way he works with the players and how he can bring them on as a team.

"I hope for everyone's sake that he stays. For myself, I'm looking forward to the break that I'll have next season, but my first choice would have been to stay at St Paul's."
