Alex Kenyon: Morecambe midfielder signs new contact

Alex Kenyon has scored six goals in 118 appearances for Morecambe

Morecambe midfielder Alex Kenyon has signed a new one-year deal with the League Two side.

The 23-year-old former Everton trainee moved to the Shrimps in June 2013 from Stockport County.

Kenyon has also had stints in non-league football at Lancaster City and Chorley.

"I was always going to sign again, it was never in doubt and it will be great to meet up with the lads again this week," he told the club website.

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley added: "We are obviously delighted to see Alex back with us. He is still only a youngster really, but has played more than 100 games for us and that experience will be valuable this season.''
