Will Grigg: Hamburg fans start petition for Northern Ireland and Wigan striker

Fans of German club Hamburg have started a petition to sign Northern Ireland striker Will Grigg following his rise to fame during Euro 2016.
The 24-year-old did not play in the tournament but became a cult hero over the viral chant adapted in his honour.
The petition, which has attracted over 5,000 signatures, claims the deal would "finally bring proper atmosphere to the stadium".
The Wigan striker finished last season as top scorer in League One.
The song 'Will Grigg's On Fire', adapted from the 1990s song 'Freed from Desire', became one of the most popular chants at Euro 2016 in France.
After arriving home, Grigg admitted he was "massively disappointed" not to have made a single appearance at the tournament for Michael O'Neill's side.
The player has been linked with Celtic, Hull and Nottingham Forest, but Hamburg fans want their club to join the race.
The petition posted on www.openpetition.de states: "Grigg has a market value of €1.5m".
"The striker enjoys an international reputation and would probably [pay for himself] several times over through merchandising."
It claims the deal would provide a cult hero for "the club, and the city … The HSV fans need a player like Grigg."
