Charlton Athletic defender Chris Solly has signed a new three-year contract with the League One club.

He is Charlton's longest-serving player despite being only 25, and made 35 appearances last term as they suffered relegation from the Championship.

Solly has been with the Addicks since the age of 11 and made his first-team debut against Norwich in May 2009.

"I'm determined to try and get us back into the Championship at the first time of asking," he told the club website.

Meanwhile, Addicks midfielder Ahmed Kashi could be out for up to four months because of complications with an Achilles injury.
