Ipswich defender Tommy Smith has signed a new three-year contract with the Championship club, with the option of a further 12 months.

Smith has made 254 appearances for the Blues, having made his debut in 2008.

The 26-year-old New Zealander netted twice in 48 appearances last season, as Ipswich finished seventh, one spot outside the play-off places.

Smith joins Adam McDonnell, Michael Crowe and Joe Robinson in signing new deals with the Tractor Boys.
