Newport County boss Warren Feeney is set for FA misconduct hearing

Warren Feeney would still like to add to his squad before the transfer window closes

Newport have accepted four separate misconduct charges following their controversial 2-1 defeat to Luton Town.

Feeney has accepted a misconduct charge from the Football Association and will find out his punishment at a hearing on Friday.

His assistant Sean McCarthy has already accepted a one-game touchline ban.

County have also been charged for players surrounding the referee and for exceeding six bookings in a single match.

The angry affair has led to a continued war of words between Feeney and Luton striker Cameron McGeehan.

Meanwhile, Feeney wants to sign "two or three" players before the close of the transfer window.

The Exiles have been linked with a move for striker Reuben Reid, who is a free agent after leaving Plymouth.

Feeney had a player - believed to be Reid - in attendance as his guest for Saturday's 1-1 draw with Crewe.

"I am still trying to bring in, I am not going to lie," Feeney told BBC Wales Sport.

"We are still in talks with the player we had here. He is a goalscorer and knows this league well.

"I still think we need two or three more players."

Football League clubs no longer have the luxury of being able to loan players outside the transfer window, which Feeney admits adds pressure to the need to reinforce before transfer deadline day.

"It is difficult, you don't want to burn your players out too early," he explained.

"I think it will affect all the teams outside the Premier League and Championship."

Feeney has also signed 18-year-old free agent goalkeeper Marcus Beauchamp, a product of Norwich City's youth academy.
