John Toshack has been sacked as Wydad Casablanca manager following their 4-0 defeat by Zamalek in the first leg of the African Champions League semi final.
Former Real Madrid and Wales boss Toshack had been in charge since 2014.
A statement on the club's website, external said the 67-year-old's contract had been terminated with immediate effect.
The Welshman had this week said his time in Morocco was "something extra" in an illustrious career.
After taking charge in June 2014, he led Wydad to the Moroccan title in his first campaign and followed that up with the runners-up spot last season to secure African Champions League football.
