Jamie Day: Braintree Town part company with manager

Jamie Day had spells in charge of Welling and Ebbsfleet before he joined Briantree

National League side Braintree Town have parted company with manager Jamie Day after four months in charge.

The 37-year-old won just two of his 12 league games and the Iron are 22nd in the table, two points from safety.

Day joined in May after a spell as assistant manager of Forest Green after Danny Cowley moved to Lincoln City.

"The view of the board was that change now allows time for fresh ideas and a fresh approach to turn our season around," said chairman Lee Harding.
