Swansea City head coach Francesco Guidolin admits his job could be under threat if his side do not beat Liverpool at home on Saturday.

The Swans are on a three-match losing run with just one Premier League victory this season.

Ryan Giggs and former USA manager Bob Bradley have been linked with the Swans post.

Asked whether he had to win this weekend to keep his job, Guidolin said: ''Maybe, it could happen.''

But the 60-year-old Italian insisted he still had the support of the players and he had not sought assurances from chairman Huw Jenkins about his future.

''I spoke with the chairman last week, but at the moment the most important thing is for me to work with my players and with my team to prepare for the next game, to be focussed and with concentration," said Guidolin.

''I know it is not a good moment for our team, but not the manager. It is not a good moment because the table does not look good and we need results.

"But at the moment my position is not important, what is important is the position of Swansea City.''

The Swans' boss said he was unconcerned about speculation over Giggs and Bradley replacing him, saying it was not his "problem" and he described Jenkins as "an honest man."

Guidolin added that he did not seek assurances over his future because he realised results were all important.

"I just need to work and to get a result because this is football," added Guidolin.

"Without results, words are not important. It's important to win and I know this. It's clear for me, it's clear for the chairman and clear for everybody."

Swansea's American owners, Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan, and Jenkins have been alarmed by Swansea's recent poor form.

With difficult fixtures against Liverpool and Arsenal to come, however, it is understood the quality of Swansea's next few performances will have as much bearing on Guidolin's future as the results.

Having been distinctly unimpressive in defeat at Southampton, there was a marked improvement in Saturday's encounter with Premier League leaders City, although Swansea lost 3-1.
