Borussia Monchengladbach's system presents a different challenge to Celtic, says manager Brendan Rodgers.

The sides will meet in the first leg of their Champions League tie at Celtic Park on Wednesday evening.

Celtic have one point from two games in Group C while Gladbach have lost both of their opening matches.

"They've been playing 3-4-3 so another test for us in every element of the game but one that we're really looking forward to," Rodgers told BBC Scotland.

"They're still a top, top side. It is easily the most difficult group.

"They're a team that are tactically good, technically very strong and with young players. They are very fast and dynamic but that's the level of the Champions League."

Rodgers' side warmed up for their next European assignment with a 2-0 win over Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership.

Scott Sinclair fired the hosts in front in Glasgow and Moussa Dembele won and converted a late penalty.

Meanwhile, in the Bundesliga on Saturday, Gladbach were held to a 0-0 draw at home to 10-man Hamburg.

Group leaders Barcelona host Manchester City in Wednesday's other group fixture.

"I think these players have shown they've always stepped up," Rodgers said of Celtic's previous Champions League fixtures this season.

"The intensity of that game on Wednesday, the occasion, everything will be totally different.

"You have to respect today we needed to get the job done having been separate for a couple of weeks [due to the international break] but we come back here on Wednesday night, it'll be an incredible atmosphere. Today was, again, a good test for us.

"We hit the bar and the post and maybe could've had another five or six. Motherwell showed courage to come and play."
