Truro City boss Lee Hodges says some of his players have improved their fitness during a three-week spell with no game.

The Cornish side return to National League South action at Chelmsford on Saturday, having not played a match since 7 January.

"We're all really looking forward to playing a game again," Hodges told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"It's felt like an eternity, but the boys have been training and we're ready to go and play now."

The White Tigers, who are 15th in the table, had their game at Hungerford postponed last weekend due to a frozen pitch.

"It's just given the boys an opportunity for one or two to heal and one or two to get a little bit fitter, and we've worked hard," Hodges added.

Meanwhile defender Erik Panzer, a New Zealand and USA dual-national, has left the club to go to America.

Panzer joined Truro in October on the recommendation of former assistant manager Rory Fallon.
