League Two bottom side Newport County's hopes of avoiding relegation were dealt another blow as they were held to a draw at home to Morecambe.

The Exiles created several first-half chances and led at the break thanks to Aaron Williams' close-range strike.

Michael Rose scored from a free-kick to bring Morecambe level.

The point keeps the Shrimps 15th in the League Two table, while a sixth draw in eight games means Newport are still six points adrift of safety.
