Truro City agree Bodmin Town groundshare as back-up for 2017-18 season

Bodmin Town play four levels below Truro City in the non-league pyramid

Truro City have reached an agreement to groundshare with South West Peninsula League side Bodmin next season, if they are forced to leave Treyew Road.

They eventually hope to move to their proposed Silver Bow stadium, described as "no longer financially viable".

"We've got the groundshare in reserve," said Truro chairman Peter Masters.

Asked if he thinks Truro will play at Bodmin next season, Masters added: "I sincerely hope not, not until I've got a plan of a new stadium."

If the National League South strugglers do play at Bodmin, they will have to pay to upgrade their Priory Park ground so it meets Grade B ground-grading requirements.

Truro had a similar agreement in place with Devon side Torquay United ahead of this season but managed to remain at their current stadium, where owners Helical want to build a retail park.

"We had Torquay in reserve for this season, and next season we have Bodmin Town in reserve, which will mean a lot less travelling," Masters told BBC Radio Cornwall.
