Luton midfielder Olly Lee scored a stunner from inside his own half and Danny Hylton netted a hat-trick as the Hatters hammered Cambridge United 7-0.
Town dominated from the word go with visiting keeper David Forde saving well from Hylton and Scott Cuthbert early on.
Forde then denied Elliot Lee, but he was beaten in the 24th minute when Dan Potts netted from close range.
Olly Lee made it 2-0 on the half hour mark, seeing Forde off his own line and superbly beating him from 65 yards, while Hylton found the bottom corner in the 35th minute.
It was 4-0 on the stroke of half time, Elliot Lee firing a magnificent left foot volley into the top corner from Hylton's chip.
After the break, Shinnie hit the post from 20 yards and had an effort cleared off the line by Leon Legge.
In the closing stages Town ran riot, Hylton grabbed his second in the 82nd minute from Jack Stacey's cross, Elliot Lee thumped past Forde from 20 yards in the 88th minuet and Hylton completed his treble from Alan Sheehan's free kick in stoppage time.
