Bayern had only previously conceded one league goal since Heynckes returned as manager in October
Bayern Munich have lost 2-1 to Borussia Monchengladbach, ending manager Jupp Heynckes' 30-game unbeaten run in the Bundesliga.
They are Heynckes' first dropped points since taking over in October, following nine straight wins in all competitions.
Thorgan Hazard put Monchengladbach ahead with a 39th minute penalty after Niklas Sule's handball.
Matthias Ginter added the hosts' second before Arturo Vidal pulled a goal back with a 25-yard second half strike.
The German champions hit the post in either half through Robert Lewandowski and Kingsley Coman but fell to a second league defeat of the season.
The loss is Heynckes' first in the league since Bayern lost 2-1 to Bayer Leverkusen on 28 October 2012 in his previous spell in charge of the Bavarian club.
Heynckes, currently in his fourth spell in charge of Bayern, played 405 times for Monchengladbach and has also had two spells as their manager.
Bayern remain top of the Bundesliga, three points clear of second-placed RB Leipzig.
