Scottish League One: Leaders Ayr United and second-placed Raith Rovers win

Ayr United remained top of Scottish League One by three points with a 3-2 victory over Albion Rovers.

Raith Rovers stayed in touch in second place - and have a game in hand - by beating Alloa Athletic 2-1.

Queen's Park earned their first home win of the season, coming from a goal down to overcome East Fife 2-1.

Ten-man Forfar Athletic went down 2-1 to Airdrieonians, and Arbroath failed to close the gap on the top two, losing to Stranraer by the same scoreline.

At Somerset Park, Craig Moore's 16th-minute effort gave the league leaders the advantage, but it was one they held for only nine minutes, with Sean Higgins levelling.

With 17 minutes to play, Lawrence Shankland had the hosts ahead again, and although Alan Trouten levelled in the 75th minute, Chris Higgins ended an exciting four minutes with Ayr's winner.

Raith kept pace with the Honest Men, as Greig Spence and Liam Buchanan's goals maintained their 100% home record this season, despite Kevin Cawley's late consolation for Alloa.

Elsewhere, there were three impressive comebacks.

Two goals from Luke Donnelly enabled bottom club Queen's Park to win at home for the first time this campaign, cancelling out Chris Duggan's opener.

Forfar had Eddie Malone sent off in the 17th minute, but they took the lead eight minutes into the second half through Dylan Easton.

However, that was as good as it got for the visitors as Willis Furtado and Cameron Russell turned things around and sealed a 2-1 win for Airdrieonians.

Ryan McCord gave third-placed Arbroath a 15th-minute advantage against Stranraer, but Kyle Turner levelled in the 53rd minute and Angus Beith's goal won it for the visitors 12 minutes from time.
