Steve Waggott: Blackburn appoint ex-Coventry City and Gillingham chief executive as CEO

Blackburn Rovers have appointed former Coventry City, Charlton Athletic and Gillingham chief executive Steve Waggott as CEO.

Waggott, whose most recent post was as a consultant at fellow League One side Southend, previously worked with boss Tony Mowbray at Coventry.

"I am delighted and honoured to be appointed CEO at a club steeped in football history," Waggott said.

"I will pool all my previous football knowledge, skills and experience."
