Carlisle United 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

League Two side Carlisle earned an FA Cup third-round replay at Championship club Sheffield Wednesday after a goalless draw at Brunton Park.

Atdhe Nuhiu headed against the bar for the visitors in the first minute and also saw a close-range shot saved.

Lucas Joao headed narrowly wide for the Owls early in the second half, while Reggie Lambe went close for the hosts.

Sam Cosgrove had a Carlisle goal ruled out for offside before Jack Bonham brilliantly kept out a Nuhiu header.

The result means Lee Bullen finishes with one win in four games as Owls caretaker boss, with new manager Jos Luhukay watching from the stands.

Carlisle manager Keith Curle:

"It was a good cup tie. The quality of Sheffield Wednesday was evident and we had a game plan to allow them to have dominance of the ball.

"They didn't really cause us a lot of problems and we had chances on the break including a header that was ruled out for offside.

"They were the favourites, but Bonham made a Championship level save. He's a young 'keeper developing. Everything he needed to add to his game he is at Carlisle gaining it."

Sheffield Wednesday interim manager Lee Bullen:

"We played some good stuff at times. Looking at some of the other FA Cup results the main thing is we are still in there. Our first half performance was good, but we never got a break in front of goal.

"We knew we would be up against a resolute defence. The second half was more open and we allowed Carlisle a bit more space and they gave it a go."
