Woking 1-2 Dover Athletic

  • Published

Woking were relegated from the National League following a home defeat by Dover, who missed out on the play-offs despite Keanu Marsh-Brown's stoppage-time winner.

Both sides started the game knowing they needed to win for different reasons, Dover to give themselves any chance of reaching the play-offs and Woking to boost their chances of staying up.

Things looked good for Dover when Giancarlo Gallifuoco headed his fourth goal of the season from Mitch Brundle's corner from the right.

But, seven minutes before half-time, Woking got themselves back on level terms when Charlie Carter showed great composure to score after being set up by Reece Grego-Cox before hitting the crossbar with a header moments later.

But Marsh-Brown's late winner left Dover needing a Wrexham goal to beat AFC Fylde, but it never came to leave Athletic missing out on the play-offs on goal difference.
