Ezgjan Alioski scored his second goal of the season at Carrow Road - Leeds are the Championship's top scorers with 14 goals in five games

Leeds United moved back to the top of the Championship with an impressive victory at Norwich City.

Mateusz Klich gave United an early lead when he reacted quickest after Tim Krul had parried Ezgjan Alioski's header.

Five minutes later Alioski doubled the lead as Krul was inexplicably beaten at his near post by the Macedonian's shot.

Pablo Hernandez put the gloss on the win as he beautifully curled a 20-yard effort into the bottom corner after cutting in from the left.

Norwich, who slip to 17th in the Championship, have registered just one win in their opening five games.

The Canaries started and ended the first half well, but were undone in the middle thanks to two clinical Leeds finishes - although they could have scored twice before the break as Teemu Pukki saw a goalbound shot deflected wide and Kemar Roofe headed Timm Klose's header off the line.

But Marcelo Bielsa's side were not properly troubled again and should have been ahead eight minutes after the break when Samuel Saiz hit the side-netting following great build-up play from Luke Ayling, Hernandez and Roofe.

Substitute Patrick Bamford could have got a fourth late on, while Norwich did not have their second attempt on target until stoppage time, when Bailey Peacock-Farrell kept out a Grant Hanley header.

Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa:

"I am pleased with the performance - this was much better than we played at Swansea.

"But we have only played about 10 per cent of the season and we have to keep things in perspective."

Norwich head coach Daniel Farke:

"Leeds are a good side, with a lot of quality, who play at a very high level and you could see why they are top of the league. But today I 100 per cent thought we could beat them.

"For the first 25 minutes we gave them lots of problems, probably the most problems any side has given them so far this season. But when you play like that you need to take your chances.

"It was the same in the second half, we played very well for 20 minutes or so but then they score with their first shot of the half and it is game over.

"I am very disappointed with the result - but I also look at the performance and I don't think we are too far away."
