Oldham have signed Bolton captain David Wheater on a free transfer.

The defender, 32, has joined the League Two Latics on a one-year deal after making more than 200 league appearances in an eight-year spell at Bolton.

Defender Tomas Egert and midfielder Callum Dolan have also signed.

Egert, 24, has been without a club since being released by Burton in 2018 and Dolan, 18, began his career in Manchester United's academy before spells with Blackburn and Bury.

Egert, who started his career with Slovan Liberec and made three Championship appearances for Burton during the 2017-18 campaign, spent most of last season recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament knee injury.
