Macclesfield Town recovered from going behind in the opening minute to rescue a point against league Two high-flyers Newport County.

Padraig Amond gave the visitors a perfect start when he poked the ball through the legs of goalkeeper Owen Evans from close range.

But the Silkmen levelled when Jay Harris' pass over the top picked out Emmanuel Osadebe to clip the ball home.

However, Macclesfield have now not won in the league since 24 August.

Newport County manager Michael Flynn told BBC Sport Wales:

"It was a solid point away from home and an off-side goal has stopped us from winning it.

"It was a good game, end-to-end, and I thought Macclesfield looked dangerous on the counter - it was a bit too open for my liking away from home.

"The players put in a great shift and I think last year we would have lost that."
