Newport County moved up to sixth in League Two and level on points with Swindon with this 2-0 away win.

The Exiles were much the better side in the first half and took the lead when Mark O'Brien headed home from a corner seven minutes before the interval.

The hosts improved in the second half and might have levelled, but Lloyd Isgrove's drive struck the crossbar.

County made sure of the points when Padraig Amond's cross was turned home by striker Jamille Matt.

Swindon fall to fifth while Newport rise to sixth, both on 20 points.

Newport County manager Michael Flynn told BBC Sport Wales:

"It was an outstanding performance, our game plan worked exactly, we even scored from a corner routine we worked on in training.

"We knew where Swindon's weaknesses were and we exploited them.

"Our shape, discipline, desire, I just can't fault the players.

"The players gave me absolutely everything they had."
