Scunthorpe United 0-2 Cambridge United

Cambridge continued their march towards the top half of League Two with victory at Scunthorpe.

A goal in each half from Idris El Mizouni and Paul Mullin earned the U's victory - their third in succession under caretaker boss Mark Bonner.

On-loan Ipswich teenager El Mizouni set the visitors on their way in the 16th minute with his first senior goal, curling a free-kick over the Scunthorpe wall and into the top corner.

John McAtee was not off target by much as the home side sought a quick response, unlike Kevin Van Veen, who skied a much better opening over the crossbar in first-half stoppage time.

Having contained their hosts comfortably, Cambridge doubled their advantage just after the hour mark when goalkeeper Ian Lawlor could only parry a shot from Harrison Dunk and Mullin converted the rebound.

From that moment on, there was only one winner, with the U's easing to victory to make it nine points from nine since Bonner took over following the sacking of Colin Calderwood.
