Lincoln City 3-2 Burton Albion

Josh Vickers saved a late penalty as Lincoln took a significant step towards preserving their League One status with a 3-2 win over Burton.

Burton took the lead after six minutes when Jamie Murphy set up Joe Powell, who fired home low beyond Vickers.

The Imps drew level in the 21st minute when Anthony Scully dispossessed a defender and crossed for Tom Hopper, who tapped home his first goal for the club.

The Brewers regained control and restored their lead on the half-hour mark. Lucas Akins' cross found Reece Hutchinson, who cut the ball back to the Powell and he slotted home his second of the match from close range.

An eventful first half continued as the Imps levelled again before the interval. Neal Eardley sent over a cross which was kept in by Jorge Grant and his pull-back was rifled home by Hopper.

The hosts took the lead for the first time after 62 minutes when a ball in from the right was volleyed home by Joe Morrell, although there were suggestions the ball may have hit team-mate Scully before entering the net.

The drama continued 10 minutes from time when Burton were awarded a penalty after handball by Alan Sheehan and Vickers kept out Akins' spot-kick to earn Lincoln a valuable victory.
