Sutton United 2-0 Torquay United

  • Published

Sutton overtook Torquay in the National League table after maintaining a first-half advantage to secure victory at Gander Green Lane.

Robert Milson took the initiative after 19 minutes of play, connecting with a Harry Beautyman ball to slot home a low shot past Torquay keeper Shaun MacDonald.

Will Randall then doubled the U's lead in the 37th minute when converting a free-kick into their second goal.

Sutton continued to be the dominant side throughout the second half and only a handful of neat saves from MacDonald prevented a loss by a wider margin.
