Greenock Morton 2-0 Queen of the South

Kalvin Orsi scored his first goals of the season to lift Morton to third in the Scottish Championship after beating Queen of the South.

Osri thumped in the opener and headed his second from six yards following Robbie Muirhead's cross from the right.

Bottom side Queens did have the ball in the net in the first half but Tommy Goss's goal was ruled out for offside.

It summed up their luck on a day when Stephen Dobbie hobbled off and a Rhys McCabe free-kick came off the bar.

But it was a better day for Morton interim manager Anton McElhone, who has been told he will have the role until the end of the season and consecutive wins.

Morton interim manager Anton McElhone: "This is a really good changing room. We graft and do everything right. They put in the work Monday to Friday and there's more to come as well."

Queen of the South manager Allan Johnston: "It's not good enough from us, though. It's a reality check for us being at the bottom of the league. The league doesn't lie."
