Raith Rovers got the better of Greenock Morton

Iain Davidson's goal moved Raith Rovers up to second in the Scottish Championship as they beat Greenock Morton at Cappielow.

Davidson headed in from Daniel Armstrong's free-kick early on.

Raith then lost goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald to injury, with Robbie Thomson coming on from the bench.

Gozie Ugwu, James Gullan, Armstrong and Timmy Abraham threatened a second for Rovers and Gary Oliver came close for the home side.

The Stark's Park side move above Fife rivals Dunfermline Athletic on goal difference after they lost 2-0 to Arbroath.

Both Raith and Dunfermline trail Hearts by 12 points but Rovers have a game in hand.
