Dumbarton 0-1 Edinburgh City (3-2 on aggregate): Hosts hold on to League One status
- Published
Dumbarton did enough to maintain their Scottish League One status despite going down to Edinburgh City in their play-off final second leg.
After bringing a 3-1 lead from Monday back home, Jim Duffy's side went behind after the break to an Ouzy See strike.
However, Edinburgh's hopes of a comeback were hampered with a second yellow for Liam Henderson six minutes later for diving.
A late rally did arrive but Dumbarton held on comfortably.
Dumbarton captain Stuart Carswell: "I'm absolutely delighted.
"We just wanted a win at the end, no matter how we got it. I'm just glad we got the win.
"The pressure was always going to be on us. We are the team in the league and everyone wants our status, but we showed why we're in this league and we still deserve to be here."
