Partick Thistle set a new club record of six successive clean sheets as a header from Lewis Mayo earned them victory over Hamilton Academical.

The on-loan Rangers defender converted a Kyle Turner corner on 57 minutes to make sure Ian McCall's side remain fourth in the Scottish Championship.

It was a third win in a row for Thistle, who are now unbeaten in seven outings.

Just two points cover Kilmarnock in first place to Arbroath in fifth.

Midfielder Josh Mullin came close with the visitors' first effort as he fired the ball wide after 22 minutes.

After half an hour, Hamilton goalkeeper Joe Hilton saved at the feet of Zak Rudden and visiting striker Moyo shot wide across goal following a quick break before half-time.

Once the deadlock was broken, the home side continued to press as Brian Graham had a strong penalty claim waved away and Cammy Smith cracked the underside of the crossbar with a fierce volley.
