Part-time Arbroath moved top of the Scottish Championship with victory over Greenock Morton, despite being without manager Dick Campbell, his assistant and brother Ian, and six players.

Second-half goals from Colin Hamilton and Anton Dowds have them above Inverness Caledonian and Raith Rovers on goal difference.

Gary Oliver had levelled for Morton deep into the second half, but Dowds' late goal claimed the three points as Arbroath claimed a fifth win in eight matches.

Arbroath coach Rab Douglas: "Not a classic but it's three points again at home. Squad members out, manager and assistant out, but it's a great time, the Arbroath fans are loving it right now.

"The wee part-time team top of the Championship, it's great to see but there's miles to go. We'll just do our bit and enjoy our football. I think Arbroath are turning into everyone's wee favourite second team because of what they're achieving."
