Michael McKenna doubled the visitors' lead before half-time

Arbroath extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Championship to three points with an empathic victory at struggling Dunfermline Athletic.

Rhys Breen scored a comical early own goal, sending Anton Dowds' cross into his own net while attempting to clear.

Michael McKenna - the division's top scorer - fired his 12th of the campaign into the top corner just before half-time and Dowds added a late third.

Dick Campbell's in-form part-timers are now 10 league games unbeaten.

They move clear of second-place Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who have a game in hand.

Dunfermline, winless in three matches, stay second bottom, a point above Morton.
