FA Cup: Daniel Podence double helps Wolves see off in-form Sheffield United

Wolverhampton Wanderers booked their place in the FA Cup fourth round with an emphatic win against Championship side Sheffield United at Molineux.

Daniel Podence's first-half strike put Wolves in control of the tie.

Nelson Semedo added a second with 18 minutes remaining, rounding off an impressive team move by the hosts.

Podence added a third late on, firing into an empty net after substitute Raul Jimenez had robbed Blades goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.

Wolves took the lead after 14 minutes when Fabio Silva robbed Jack Robinson and fed Podence, who kept his head and found the bottom corner.

Billy Sharp thought he had equalised five minutes before half time, but his goal was ruled out for a high boot.

Semedo made it 2-0 on 72 minutes, completing a swift counter attack by meeting Rayan Ait-Nouri's cross after he was played in down the left by Podence.

The Portuguese winger then had the last word when substitute Jimenez pounced on a Foderingham error, leaving him to fire into an empty net.
