Ciaran McKenna scored his first goal of the season
Arbroath edged one point clear at the top of the Scottish Championship as they and visitors Partick Thistle both went five games without a victory.
Defender Colin Hamilton fired low into the far corner to give the home side the lead after only six minutes.
Dick Campbell's side deserved the lead until Thistle improved after the break.
Thomas O'Brien had to clear off his own line before defender Ciaran McKenna drilled the equaliser to secure a point that moves Thistle up to fourth place.
The introduction of veteran full-back Richard Foster and Juan Alegria, the 19-year-old Colombian forward signing on loan from Rangers on Monday, turned the game the Glasgow side's way.
Ian McCall's team move above Raith Rovers and are now a point behind Inverness Caledonian Thistle with two games in hand over the three sides above.
However, they remain nine points behind Arbroath, who are one clear of Kilmarnock and are now unbeaten in eight meetings with Thistle.
Arbroath manager Dick Campbell: "It was the proverbial game of two halves really. First-half, we were well on top and had four chances and I was a bit disappointed to only be 1-0 up.
"Ian obviously had words with them at half-time and they were better than us in the second half, although they didn't create a lot of chances, and I'm happy with a point."
Partick Thistle manager Ian McCall: "I thought we came into it 10 minutes before half-time, but we changed the shape and I thought in the second half we absolutely dominated and we've missed a couple of great chances to win the game.
"We just went for it with two strikers and got our reward and we feel we should have won the game."
