Chesterfield 0-2 Wrexham: Palmer brace gives Dragons crucial win
- Published
Record signing Ollie Palmer scored twice to give Wrexham a crucial victory at second-place Chesterfield.
The hosts dominated the first half but were frustrated by Wrexham goalkeeper Rob Lainton, who denied Akwasi Asante on a number of occasions.
The visitors were much improved in the second half, and Palmer headed Wrexham ahead from close range after Scott Loach had saved Jordan Davies' volley.
Palmer got his second 10 minutes later, turning in a goal-mouth scramble.
Victory lifts Wrexham up to fifth in the National League, three points behind opponents Chesterfield.
