Partick Thistle leapfrogged Inverness Caledonian Thistle into third spot in the Scottish Championship thanks to Kevin Holt's late strike.
The left-back met the ball first time to thump it low through a sea of legs from 12 yards from a corner with five minutes remaining.
Partick came closest in the first half, Juan Alegria striking the post.
Caley Thistle edged the second period, but Holt's winner ended a run of five games without a win for the hosts.
The Glasgow side move two points above the visitors with two games in hand, while they are five behind second-top Kilmarnock having played one game less.
For Caley Thistle, they drop to fourth after 11 games without a victory.
Partick Thistle manager Ian McCall: "It's a big three points. I thought in the first half we dominated, but in the second half Caley Thistle were better than us.
"But at Firhill one goal can win a game and Kevin Holt got us that tonight with his right foot. I think any of the top five could win the league and we are in the top five."
Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Billy Dodds: "We are suffering at both ends because we aren't taking those chances and we are getting punished from the one shot Partick Thistle have in the second half.
"It's a sore one to take because I thought in the second half we were excellent. There's eight games to go - we need to win nearly every one of them."
