Lewis McCann equalised for Dunfermline in the 88th minute

Lewis McCann's late header sealed a point for Scottish Championship bottom side Dunfermline and denied Greenock Morton victory at East End Park.

Morton scored against the run of play before the break, with Iain Wilson driving at the home defence and rolling a shot past Jakub Stolarczyk.

Liam Polworth and Dom Thomas threatened and Pars' team-mate Kevin O'Hara netted from an offside position.

But McCann stooped to glance home Thomas' corner in the 88th minute.

And John Hughes' side could have won it, with O'Hara hitting the post in added time.

Dunfermline go level on points with Queen of the South, who visit leaders Kilmarnock on Saturday, while Morton are now seven points off Raith Rovers in fifth.

After Saturday's second-tier games, Dunfermline will still have a game in hand against Partick Thistle on Tuesday.

Dunfermline Athletic manager John Hughes: "We took the game to them and got caught with a sucker goal in the first half, which happens.

"We had total domination. It was so one-sided. We had to be patient and stick by our game plan but we should have won it."

Greenock Morton manager Dougie Imree: "It's hard to take. The guys gave me everything, I have to praise them for that.

"They defended heroically. We're disappointed to lose the goal the way we did but we'll take a draw."
