Ayr United 0-0 Arbroath: Thomas O'Brien sent off late as neither side can break deadlock
- Published
Ayr United and Arbroath had to settle for a point each after a goalless draw on Scottish Championship day one.
Last season's runners-up were reduced to 10 men when captain Thomas O'Brien was sent off for a last-man tackle.
But the hosts were unable to take advantage in the nine minutes left.
Both sides had chances before Ayr midfielder Ben Dempsey was denied by Derek Gaston while rival goalkeeper Charlie Albinson saved from visiting playmaker James Craigen.
