Swansea City have rejected two more bids from Championship rivals Burnley for striker Michael Obafemi.

They have also turned down a tentative approach from Premier League club Leeds United for his strike partner Joe Piroe.

But the Swans have signed Wales Under-21s right wing back Finley Stevens on loan from Brentford.

They have also agreed to cancel Ryan Bennett's contract, making him a free agent.

That means 32-year-old defender Bennett can look for a club outside the transfer window.

The former Wolves defender was among Swansea's highest earners.

Swans boss Russell Martin confirmed an initial Burnley approach for Obafemi after Wednesday's 1-1 draw at Stoke.

That offer was understood to be £3m. But Swans have now stood firm on a second offer from Burnley believed to be in the region of £8m and a late third offer.

Obafemi, 22, has developed into one of Swansea's key attacking threats since joining from Southampton 12 months ago.

Swansea paid around £1.8m to sign Republic of Ireland international Obafemi in August 2021.

Meanwhile Leeds made a deadline approach for Dutchman Piroe, 23, who netted his second goal of the season at Stoke.

Swansea have been bracing themselves throughout the window for an approach for Piroe, the £1m signing from PSV Eindhoven last summer, who scored 24 goals last season.

The Swans had been looking to solve their problems at right wing back with the loan recruitment of Stevens, from Brentford.

The Brighton-born 19-year-old has made 10 appearances for Brentford and he joins on a season-long loan subject to international clearance.

Speaking about Obafemi after the Stoke game, Martin said: "We want to keep every player we have got - we haven't got a huge squad."

Obafemi struggled initially in Wales, but his form improved dramatically as last season wore on and he finished with 12 goals.

In all, he has scored 13 times in 39 appearances, 27 of which were starts.

When asked whether Swansea would be open to the idea of selling Obafemi before Thursday's transfer deadline, Martin said: "I am the head coach - it's not my decision.

"I feel like I talk to you guys (the media) too much on those decisions and then get opened up for criticism. It's not my decision. Any decision on any player is totally out of my remit."

Piroe scored his first open-play goal of the season in Wednesday's 1-1 draw at Stoke City after being picked to lead the line ahead of Obafemi, who came off the bench.

Swansea were on course for victory until Tyrese Campbell's stoppage-time equaliser.
