Hallam Hope: Oldham Athletic midfielder 'seriously injured' after assault outside Boundary Park

Police are investigating after Oldham midfielder Hallam Hope was left with "serious injuries" after being "viciously assaulted" following their National League game with Chesterfield.
Chesterfield have said, external they are aware of an allegation relating to one of their players, who has not been named.
Oldham said the incident happened in the staff car park on Saturday.
Hope, 28, required hospital treatment and will be out "for some weeks", a club statement added.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed they have received a report of an assault at Oldham's Boundary Park stadium.
The Latics said they have provided CCTV footage of the incident, with Chesterfield adding that they are also assisting with enquiries.

Hope played all 90 minutes of Saturday's 2-0 defeat by Chesterfield.
After joining Oldham in 2021, he remained with the club following their relegation from League Two last season and has scored three goals in seven league appearances this term.
