Second-half goals by Tyrhys Dolan and Ben Brereton Diaz lifted Blackburn into the top six with victory against Millwall.
Dolan broke the deadlock in a tight game following a mix-up in the Lions' defence early in the second half.
Chile international Brereton Diaz then struck from a corner to extend his side's lead just five minutes later.
Millwall hit back when Jake Cooper headed in Tyler Burey's cross, but they remain winless on the road this season.
Both sides were largely restricted to long-range attempts during a scoreless first half, with Dolan trying his luck with an ambitious lob that sailed over the bar.
Millwall's best opportunity fell to the in-form Benik Afobe, who was off-target after Callum Styles broke to tee up the striker.
George Long was called into action to thwart Ryan Hedges after the break, but the Lions paid the price for confusion between the goalkeeper and team-mate Cooper in the 57th minute.
Sam Gallagher powered into the box and, when Millwall could only half-clear his cross, it fell for Dolan, who rammed the ball home.
Rovers appeared to have wrapped up the contest when Tyler Morton's corner skimmed off the head of Afobe into the path of Brereton Diaz, who grabbed his fifth goal of the season.
However, Cooper gave the Lions renewed hope with 15 minutes remaining, nodding home to set up a tense finish.
Zian Flemming and Andreas Voglsammer both went close to levelling late on, but Blackburn saw out five minutes of added time to climb into the play-off positions, while the Lions slip to 16th.
Blackburn head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson told BBC Radio Lancashire:
"It's always great to have a win.
"I hate losing but I like especially to see those things we've worked on in training being successful.
"The boys did that, so it's big progress in that way."
Millwall assistant manager Adam Barrett told BBC Radio London:
"There was nothing really in the game up until the goal we conceded. We had a couple of opportunities first half and thought we probably had better chances than Blackburn did.
"When you concede a sloppy goal like we did, you've gifted a goal away. Then so quickly after a set-piece, which we pride ourselves on, I think that happened because of the first goal.
"We've got to cut those silly mistakes out. Up until the mistake, we were happy with where we were at in the game.
"We've done it too many times away from home this season and we've got to be better in those moments."
