Cymru Premier round-up: Penybont fourth after win at Caernarfon

Bala Town 3-0 Aberystwyth Town: Colin Caton's Bala are now three points behind second placed Connah's Quay Nomads after a Friday night win over Aberystwyth Town. Captain Chris Venables scored his fourth league goal of the season with a header from Paul Rutherford's cross. Defender Nathan Peate's header doubled the lead and the win was sealed in the second half when Jonathan Evans put the ball in his own net.

Newtown 2-1 Airbus UK: Newtown moved out of the bottom two and up to ninth after condemning Airbus to a 12th league defeat of the season at Latham Park. Zeli Ismail finished off a good move to give the hosts the lead on 19 minutes and the lead was doubled four minutes later when Jake Walker scored a second. Jake Eyre scored six minutes from time for Airbus, who remain on minus two points at the bottom of the table.
Caernarfon Town 0-2 Penybont: Penybont moved above Caernarfon into fourth spot with victory at The Oval. The home team dominated the early stages and came close through Sion Bradley but it was Penybont who took the lead with Keyon Reffell's strong run and cross was converted by Nathan Wood. Rhys Griffiths' side doubled their lead following a fine solo run and goal by substitute Ryan Reynolds with 20 minutes remaining.
Flint Town United 0-1 Haverfordwest County: Tony Pennock's Haverfordwest halted a run of four successive defeats with a crucial away win which sees them move one spot up to ninth. Flint's Jack Hindle was shown a straight red card for a stamp on Dylan Rees and soon after Jordan Davies scored the only goal from the penalty spot to secure victory.
The New Saints 4-0 Cardiff Met: League leaders Saints broke the deadlock and Met's stubborn resistance eight minutes before the break when Ben Clarke's shot took a deflection and beat Alex Laing for his third goal of the season. Declan McManus extended the lead in first half stoppage time before scoring a second in the second half and was denied a hat-trick by an offside decision. Substitute Gwion Dafydd's goal in stoppage time sealed a 12th successive win for the champions, who are seven points clear at the top.

Pontypridd United 0-5 Connah's Quay Nomads: Nomads are back within four points of leader New Saints after their seventh successive league win. Mike Hayes scored twice while there were also goals for John Disney, Michael Wilde and Callum Morris.
