Arbroath's advantage over Scottish Championship bottom side Hamilton Academical was cut to three points after Raith Rovers came back to win.
Michael McKenna struck to give the hosts a half-time team.
Scott Brown's shot and Connor McBride's header in a seven-minute spell turned the match in Raith's favour.
Cove Rangers' win at Partick Thistle moves them four points clear of Arbroath, as Rovers draw level with fourth-placed Partick Thistle.
