Wrexham 2-2 Woking: Dragons drop points at home

  • Published

Wrexham's 100% home league record came to an end as the National League title contenders were held by Woking.

Padraig Amond's header gave Woking an early lead but Anthony Forde's free-kick brought Wrexham level.

Paul Mullin's penalty, after Ollie Palmer had been brought down, put the hosts ahead early in the second half.

But Rhys Browne levelled for Woking from the penalty spot after James Daly had been fouled.

It was a disappointing performance by Wrexham, who are now five points behind leaders Notts County who beat Barnet, while Woking are third.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said:

"It was a scrappy, horrible game. I didn't enjoy watching that and I'm sure the supporters didn't enjoy watching that.

"Got to give Woking credit, the way they played. They made it difficult, were physical, athletic and we got caught up in a scrap and we didn't play.

"I've said all along that in those games you've got to produce more moments of quality than we did tonight and we didn't impose our system, our shape on to them and made it too easy for them to stop us playing."
