Connor Shields scored twice as Queen's Park stretched their lead at the top of the Scottish Championship with a thumping win over Hamilton Academical.

Midfielder Jack Thomson fired the opener before Shields set up Aaron Healy for the second after the break.

A Shields drive extended the lead only for for rival striker Dario Zanatta to pull one back for the in-form hosts.

But the on-loan Motherwell forward struck again to end a run of four away games without a win.

A third win in a row for Queen's Park over Accies means the Glasgow side are four clear of Dundee, who drew at home to Inverness Caledonian Thistle, while the hosts are now just one point clear of Arbroath after the bottom side finished goalless at home to Partick Thistle.
