  2. 'Brophy knows where the goal is' - Mackaypublished at 17:58 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2023

FT: Ross County 4-0 Dundee United

Ross County manager Malky Mackay tells BBC Sportsound: "I'm delighted with the way we played and the confidence that will bring. It's an eight-goal swing on United and we could have had a few more goals."

Of his two-goal striker on loan from St Mirren, he adds: "I've known Eamonn Brophy since the Scotland Under-21s and he knows where the goals is. He's a clever player too. You saw that with his link up play.

"He's not played a lot of football in the last six-nine months, so we have to be careful with him.

"The group are fighting for each other, which I think everyone can see."

  4. 'It's a terrific strike' - Kettlewellpublished at 17:49 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2023

    FT: Kilmarnock 1-1 Motherwell

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Sportsound is delighted with "a terrific strike" from Callum Slattery that secured a point in Ayrshire.

"Kilmarnock were the better side in the first half, no debate about that," he says. "But I thought we got a very good reaction in the second half.

"The fact their goalkeeper gets man of the match tells you we came back into it.

"It's important we focus on the next game in Dingwall. We want to extend our unbeaten run next week."

  5. Robson prepares for Burrows chatpublished at 17:46 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2023

    FT: Aberdeen 1-0 Livingston

Aberdeen caretaker manager Barry Robson believes his side deserved the win over Livingston.

"I think we looked pretty comfortable in the end," he tells Sportsound.

"Livingston tried to slow everything down and take the rhythm out of the game, so we had to stick with it, win second balls and we showed a calmness, a real aggression and a good structure."

Robson was pleased with the clean sheet.

"Myself and the staff tried to stop the goals and we look better in that department," he says.

Asked about taking the job full-time, Robson was cagey given Aberdeen's new chief executive is only about to arrive from Motherwell.

"I need to speak to Alan Burrows next week," he adds. "I'm focused on the game against Dundee United - we need to go and win that.

"I will be a manager one day, whether that's with Aberdeen or someone else, I don't know. Let's just keep winning games."

  6. 'We gave a terrible goal away' - Martindalepublished at 17:43 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2023

    FT: Aberdeen 1-0 Livingston

Livingston manager David Martindale is frustrated to lose a game from which he felt they deserved a point.

"I think it should be a 0-0 to be honest," he tells BBC Scotland. "There was nothing really that either keeper had to do, but unfortunately we come out as the losing team. Aberdeen made us defend our area, but I don't think they should be scoring from that situation.

"Aberdeen's back three were very good, their midfield were on second balls more than us.

"It's a game where we weren't quite at it, but we've given a terrible goal away. We've switched off for the second phase.

"If we think we're going to turn up and win games of football because of previous form then we've got another thing coming. We've worked too hard to throw it away now. There's a bit of work to do."

  7. 'I'm disappointed for my players and the club' - McInnespublished at 17:40 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2023

    FT: Kilmarnock 1-1 Motherwell

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Sportsound: "I'm disappointed for the players and so many people at the club. It was a strong performance. There was a lot of anxiety in the game and I thought the boys dealt with it well.

"We were very good in the first half. We had opportunities to get the second, which would've killed the game. We looked for more of the same in the second half."

McInnes praised Motherwell's Callum Slattery for his stunning equaliser.

"We gave them a helping hand by giving away too many free-kicks," he adds. "There's players in every team who have the quality of Slattery. It's a brilliant finish. He's come up with a moment."

  8. Pitch made playing football 'impossible' - Robinsonpublished at 17:38 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2023

FT: St Johnstone 1-1 St Mirren

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells Sportsound: "When you're playing against 10 men for so long and they score from one of their first opportunities in the game and we're chasing in the end, we're thinking we're thankful for getting a point.

"Overall, we're happy with a point in the end. We created a lot of chances on a really difficult surface. There are so many mistakes and the game is littered with errors because of it.

"Bar taking our chances, there's not a lot more we can ask the boys to do. Credit to St Johnstone, they still made it very difficult for us.

"If we're drawing games away from home and winning at home, we're having a very good season."

When you use the word reflection, it makes a statement in itself. While the chairman can offer words of support, chairmen can change their mind very quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if the change of mind came because Dundee United are not performing for Liam Fox just now

  11. 'We'll go away and have a think'published at 17:31 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2023

FT: Ross County 4-0 Dundee United

For what it's worth, here comes the end of that Liam Fox interview...

"It's very soon after the final whistle," the Dundee United head coach says. "Everyone is hugely disappointed.

"We'll go away and have a think, look at ourselves, players, staff. Everybody. We'll see where we are in the next couple of days."

  12. Davidson disagrees with Phillips red cardpublished at 17:30 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2023

FT: ST Johnstone 1-1 St Mirren

St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson disagrees with the red card for Daniel Phillips after catching opposing midfielder Ryan Flynn was justified.

"First of all, I've watched the sending off back. I'm not sure what Dan's meant to do," he tells BBC Scotland. "He takes a touch, trying to turn the guy who has come in quickly. Where is he meant to put his foot? I thought the original decision, the yellow card, was the right decision.

"It's a huge decision that has a huge impact on the game. There's no malice, no force. I'm really disappointed with that. It's tough to take. We've lost Dan and I don't think it's an appeal we would win.

"After that, the boys were terrific. Their performance and energy levels were superb. We limited them to a few chances.

"I was delighted in the end to get a point. It was a really difficult pitch to play on. That's a couple of unfortunate red cards we've had, but we perform well with 10 men."

  13. 'Confidence an issue for United' - Foxpublished at 17:26 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2023

FT: Ross County 4-0 Dundee United

Dundee United head coach Liam Fox sounds very glum, using the word "unacceptable" a few more times as he talks to BBC Sportsound.

"In any game of football, if you don't turn up, don't compete, don't run about, you'll run the risk of a result like that." he says.

"Confidence is always an issue on runs like this. We never looked like we were going to get ourselves back in the game.

    "Everyone is hugely frustrated..."

A technical fault then ends that awkward interview prematurely.
