Wrexham returned to the top of the National League despite Shawn McCoulsky's late goal denying them all three points at Maidenhead.
Paul Mullin's header gave the visitors a first half lead.
Reece Smith's superb 25-yard drive levelled for the hosts but a second Mullin header put Wrexham in front.
McCoulsky capitalised on a mistake by keeper Mark Howard, got ahead of him and poked the ball into an empty net for a stoppage time equaliser.
Wrexham are a point ahead of Notts County, who earlier drew 1-1 at Bromley, with a game in hand while Maidenhead are 14th.
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said:
"Hugely frustrated because we know how Maidenhead play and I felt in the main we'd dealt with it well.
"They're a team you have to contest the first and second balls all over the pitch and the games have a scrappy feel to them.
"Could we have played with more quality at times? Yes, but they do make it difficult for you. But at 2-1 up all we had to do was see one moment through."
